Ukraine Completes Restoration of 50 Critical Infrastructure Facilities in Liberated Regions

In December 2024, Ukraine announced the completion of restoration works on 50 critical infrastructure facilities in regions liberated from Russian occupation. The restored sites include schools, hospitals, water supply systems, and energy facilities.

Key Project Achievements:

  • Education:
15 schools in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions have been restored, enabling over 10,000 children to return to education.

  • Healthcare:
10 hospitals have been repaired, providing access to quality medical services for residents of affected regions.

  • Water Supply:
Water systems in three communities in the Kherson region have been restored, supplying clean water to over 30,000 residents.

  • Energy:
Six substations have been modernized, significantly improving energy supply stability in the liberated regions.

Ukraine's Minister of Infrastructure stated that the project was made possible through the support of international partners and EU member states. The €120 million funding was provided by the European Union under its Ukraine Recovery Program.

"These facilities symbolize Ukraine's revival. They not only restore normal life for thousands but also showcase our ability to rebuild swiftly even under the most challenging conditions," the minister emphasized.
