Ukraine Receives €560 Million from EIB for Energy and Transport Infrastructure Recovery

On October 15, 2024, the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced a financial aid package of €560 million for Ukraine. This funding is designated for the restoration of energy and transport infrastructure damaged due to military actions.

Key Funding Areas:

• Energy: Restoration and modernization of energy facilities to ensure stable electricity supply.

• Transport: Repair and reconstruction of roads, bridges, and railways to improve logistics and regional connectivity.

Ukraine's Minister of Infrastructure stated that this assistance is crucial for the rapid restoration of key facilities essential for the country's functionality. He emphasized that collaboration with the EIB will facilitate Ukraine's integration into the European economic space.

An EIB representative highlighted the importance of supporting Ukraine during this challenging period and reaffirmed the bank's commitment to continue funding projects aimed at rebuilding and developing critical infrastructure.
