EIB Launches Projects under the "Ukraine Recovery Programme"

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has announced the launch of its first project under the "Ukraine Recovery Programme." This project involves constructing a modern educational institution in the Vinnytsia region. The school, designed for 600 students, will feature state-of-the-art energy-efficient infrastructure.
The "Ukraine Recovery Programme" aims to support critical social infrastructure damaged by Russian aggression. Overall, the programme plans to implement 155 projects, including restoring schools, hospitals, administrative buildings, and residential infrastructure.
"This first project marks the beginning of extensive work to rebuild Ukraine. Investing in education and social infrastructure is a crucial step towards restoring normalcy in communities most affected," said EIB Vice-President Christian Carlson.
The project's key objectives include not only restoration but also modernization of infrastructure with energy-efficient solutions. The school will be equipped with advanced ventilation, lighting, and energy-saving systems, reducing operational costs.
Additionally, the programme provides funding for project documentation for other critical facilities. In 2024, the EIB plans to complete the restoration of three hospitals in the Kharkiv region and one water supply hub in the Chernihiv region.
The "Ukraine Recovery Programme" has received support from international partners and EU member states. The total budget for the programme exceeds €3.5 billion, with €1.8 billion already allocated to initial projects.
This initiative is a significant step in Ukraine's recovery and the restoration of stability in its communities.
